Dress Code for Camp
Acceptable dress: Casual and modest shorts and t-shirts

Unacceptable dress: Short shorts (including Soffe shorts for girls), tight fitting tops, barebacked/bare midriff tops, spaghetti straps, tube tops, transparent clothing, halter tops, any clothing that advertises substances illegal by law for minors, suggestive or profane, or that suggest gang activity or derogatory remarks of an ethnic nature.

Guys:
Shorts should be loose, at least mid-thigh length. You must wear a shirt at all times, except swimming. No bare midriffs. No side cutouts.

Girls:
No spaghetti straps. No bare midriffs. Modest swimsuits only- one-piece or tankinis that look like one-pieces when worn. You must wear coverups to and from the pool.  No swimsuits at canteen or team sports. Shorts should be loose, at least mid-thigh length.

Swimsuit Policy:
Teens are allowed to wear one piece suits or two piece tankini suits at Camp Highland and to other youth group activities. The change in policy is a result of a change in what is available in stores. One pieces are harder and harder to find (and less and less modest) and many two piece tankinis are often more modest that the one pieces that are in the stores. However, not all tankinis are considered appropriate for camp. Here are the new guidelines to use when shopping for this year’s suit:

Look for a top that extends past the navel.  A halter can be ok, as long as the front is not cut too low. A strapless top would not be allowed.

Look for tops that are not low cut in the front, and that the entire back is not showing.

Look for bottoms that are modest and not tied by strings, metal rings, etc.

Look for sets that will meet in the middle, i.e. a tankini that still shows two inches of belly is not appropriate.

Make modesty your goal.  The point is not to allow girls to show more skin. If anything it is give them another option to be perhaps even more modest.
