Christianity claims our stories make the most sense when seen in light of the death and resurrection of Jesus. The season of Easter provides an opportunity to reflect on these important events and what they mean for us. This five hour silent retreat utilizes the final portions of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises to help us imagine ourselves side by side with Jesus from the moment he enters the Garden of Gethsemane to the instant he rises from his tomb. Through contemplative readings of the Passion and the resurrection, we receive in fresh and surprising ways the love of Christ and the call of Christ.
The retreat begins at the Fireside--a quiet outdoor area with an entrance at the southeast corner of the parking lot. Bring a chair, a Bible, a journal, and a pen, as well as comfortable clothing. As darkness falls, or if weather turns cold or wet, we will move into the Youth Mission, located on the corner of the building nearest the Fireside. Water bottles, snacks, and coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will be provided.
